Sinister (SiN) was formed in late 1997 for the sole purpose of waging war in Ultima Online. Their members came from all parts of the world and respectively from all parts of UO. Some were old PK's dating back to earlier games like Meridian 59, some were MUD players, and still others were leading Quake genre competitors. In UO however every one of the SiN members banded together for one common purpose... Guild Warfare.

In the early days of UO Sinister wasn't present, its members were, but the entity as a whole was not. Most of the members came from two houses: Clan Blade (CB) and The Renaissance (TR). The later of these two houses was made entirely of DE members that looked for a new home in ashes of that clans demise. Each house was noted for different skills but both lacked something the other desired. Clan Blade had tight family unity in a manner that was unheard of in UO. Their members spent a lot of time on the phone together as they wrecked havoc and slayed mass numbers of UO patrons. TR had tons of large guild warfare experience, having its members mostly come from a very large and very active guild known as Dark Empire, which helped a lot in this regard. Together they formed a new entity that was extremely organized and founded in the belief that friendship and guildmate come before all others.

With this merger came new friends, most notable was an alliance that existed between CB and SoB. SoB is one of the great stories in UO history, spawning in the beta, with more guild victories than can be counted. DDH a newer guild but with foundations much the same as SiN also had some of the best. Together SoB and DDH made fantastic allies for any new guild. With a combined force of near 50+ active members we were a powerful force when stirred.

Today in 2009, Sinister is still a top contender in every successful MMO launch to date.
